Star Wars fan forced to sell 16ft AT-ST replica because girlfriend doesn’t like it


A Star Wars fan has been forced to sell a 16ft tall, £10,000 replica of the famous All-Terrain Scout Transport (AT-ST) vehicle that appeared in Return Of The Jedi because his girlfriend has grown tired of it.

Musician Martin Fillery, from Ston Easton, outside Bath, bought the model, built of metal and wood, a couple of years ago but has now put it on online auction website eBay.

Rather than keep the potential windfall in a savings account, the 42-year-old has said he intends to buy more toys, which may anger his girlfriend further.

Mr Fillery said: ‘I bought it about six months ago from a group of Star Wars enthusiasts up north who built it.

‘They had run out of money, so I jumped at the chance to buy it – I’ve now had about as much fun as I can have from it.
