Firefighter saves kitten from fire, video goes viral

FRESNO, Calif. – Video of a California firefighter saving a kitten has gone viral again after GoPro re-posted the video to YouTube.

In June, Cory Kalanick, a Fresno, Calif. firefighter entered a burned home and rescued a kitten he found on the floor.

GoPro reposted Cory’s video to their YouTube channel on Wednesday. The video has been watched nearly 1 million times in less than 24 hours.

“I looked down and you can actually see the cat shining in the spotlight of my flashlight,” firefighter Kalanick told KGPE earlier this year. “I looked back and that’s when I saw the cat and grabbed him.”

The kitten was limp as Kalanick picked it up and took it outside. He set the kitten on his glove to protect it from the hot asphalt, poured water on the animal and used an entire tank of oxygen to revive the kitten.
