Michael Douglas reveals he has not seen jailed son Cameron, who is in solitary confinement, in more than a year after Emmys speech

When Michael Douglas accepted his Emmy award for outstanding lead actor in a TV miniseries or movie for his role in Behind the Candelabra, he was quick to thank his co-stars, crew and, somewhat surprisingly, estranged Catherine Zeta-Jones. But Douglas also made a point of mentioning his eldest son, Cameron, currently serving time for drug trafficking, saying onstage on Sunday night that he’s “hoping they’ll allow me to see him soon.”

Speaking backstage following the acceptance speech, Douglas explained that Cameron, who was sentenced to prison time in 2010, has been in solitary confinement, and that such treatment of a “non-violent prisoner” has the Emmy-winner “disappointed with the system.”
