GTA V has broken the record set by Call Of Duty: Black Ops with £65 million worth of sales in just its first 24 hours on sale.
It was probably inevitable but GTA V has broken UK sales records for the launch of a new video game, with Chart-Track announcing that the game sold 1.57 million copies in its first day on sale – generating over £65 million in revenue.
The previous record holder was Call of Duty: Black Ops which sold 1.41 million copies in 2010, worth a total of £58 million. The third, fourth, and fifth fastest sellers are also Call Of Duty games, despite sales for the series slipping slightly in the last two years.
