Katy Perry bashed by PETA for use of exotic animals in Roar video

Katy Perry has come under fire from PETA for using exotic animals in her music video for Roar.

Perry’s latest single sees her frolic in a jungle with a variety of creatures, including a monkey, a parrot, a tiger and an elephant.

Now a spokesperson for the animal rights group criticised the video, as it had the potential to expose the animals to stress.

Spokeswoman Merrilee Burke told the Daily Star: ‘Animals used for entertainment endure horrific cruelty and suffer from extreme confinement and violent training methods.

‘They often become stressed and anxious when hauled around and forced into unfamiliar or frightening situations.’

She added that the company who supplied the animals for the video has been in trouble on number of occasions.

‘The Serengeti Ranch, the animal exhibitor that we believe supplied the animals for the Roar video, has been inspected by the US Department of Agriculture 22 times…
