Doctor Who 50th anniversary special to be titled The Day Of The Doctor

The BBC has revealed the news Doctor Who fans have all been waiting for, after the title of the 50th anniversary special was confirmed.

The feature-length episode, which will be screened worldwide on Saturday November 23, will be entitled The Day Of The Doctor – and will be preceded by a raft of Who-themed programmes leading up to the big day.

These will include the premiere of Mark Gatiss’ An Adventure In Space And Time – which features David Bradley as ‘first Doctor’ William Hartnell – as well as a special showing of the Time Lord’s first ever adventure An Unearthly Child.

Meanwhile Professor Brian Cox will join in the fun with a show devoted to the science behind the show – and a BBC Two documentary will explore the impact Doctor Who has had on modern culture.
