Man Vs council: Bear Grylls grilled over metal slide

TV adventurer Bear Grylls is facing an investigation over a metal slide he installed on his personal island in North Wales.

The Born Survivor and Man Vs Wild presenter posted a picture of the slide on Twitter on Monday.

But Gwynedd council has launched an investigation as St Tudwal’s West, off Abersoch, is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty.

‘Officers from the council’s planning service are investigating this case and will be discussing the matter with the site owner,’ a council spokesperson said.

It is understood the slide is only for use by the chief scout’s family and only then at high tide.

Recently, Grylls, real name Edward, submitted a planning application for a £580,000 harbour on the island, which he bought for £95,000 in 2001.
