A home video of the now famous ‘Ikea Monkey’ and former owner Yasmin Nakhuda has emerged as she testifies in court to try to regain custody of Darwin. Japanese macaque Darwin was confiscated and taken into care at a primate sanctuary. Darwin became a global sensation after pictures of him in an Ikea parking lot wearing a minature shearling coat and diaper surfaced online.
The court is determining if former owner Nakhuda is suitable enough to care for the animal which is illegal to have as a pet under Toronto law. Report by Ashley Fudge.
