The big screen adaptation of The Man From U.N.C.L.E has suffered another setback with the news that Tom Cruise has exited the project.
The Oblivion star had reportedly been in talks to join Armie Hammer in the long-in-the-offing reboot, which is due to be directed by Guy Ritchie later this year.
According to US website Deadline, however, he has now quit due to a clash of schedules with the fifth Mission Impossible movie.
With both films due to go before the cameras in the autumn, Cruise has opted to focus on MI:5, which he will both star in and produce – once again leaving U.N.C.L.E without a star.
The movie version of the 1960s show was originally set to go ahead with Steven Soderbergh directing and George Clooney taking the lead as secret agent Napoleon Solo.
