Stoke striker Kenwyne Jones has made a pig’s ear of trying to gain revenge for a prank involving a pig’s head.
On Friday it emerged that Jones had discovered the severed head of a real-life pig in his locker at the Potters’ Clayton Wood training ground, with the Premier League club immediately launching an investigation.
However, a seething Jones took matters into his own hands and, assuming team-mate Glenn Whelan was the culprit, smashed the windscreen of the Republic of Ireland midfielder’s car as retribution.
Whelan, though, pleaded innocence, prompting an apology from Trinidadian Jones, who also denied the prank was racially motivated.
Jones wrote on Twitter: ‘First off for all the people saying this had anything to with racism I’m not endorsing that.
