‘I am very proud of how we forever changed television and music’: Randy Jackson confirms American Idol departure

Randy Jackson has confirmed he is leaving American Idol after 12 years on the judging panel.

The 56-year-old veteran of the US talent contest, masterminded by Simon Cowell, is to leave after the current series finishes this month and will focus on other business ventures.

‘Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to rest, after 12 years of judging on American Idol I have decided it is time to leave after this season,’ he revealed.

‘I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It’s been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures,’ he added to E! News.
