There’s nothing like starting big: when he signed on to the touring cast of The Book of Mormon, Chris O’Neill wasn’t just getting onboard with one of the biggest hits to come off Broadway in the last decade — he was also making his musical theatre debut. A sketch comedian by trade, O’Neill hasn’t had any trouble with the switch: the show has played to sold-out auditoriums across its tour, which is spreading the word in Toronto until June 9. O’Neill sat down with the National Post’s David Berry to discuss his love for the Kids in the Hall, what its like to be a misfit among the singers and why Mormons are such nice people.
