A tongue-tied student with a powerful singing voice stole the show on Britain’s Got Talent as the auditions shows reached their fourth week.
Alex Keirl, 20, from Chester, won rave reviews from the judges – and a standing ovation from the audience – with an emotional rendition of the Les Miserables song Bring Him Home, which gave him a chance to show off his high-pitched vocal tones.
And while Simon Cowell expressed concerns that his vocals might be ‘a little bit too high, the other judges had no qualms whatsoever.
‘That was a great vocal performance,’ Alesha Dixon said. ‘You have a really lovely ethereal quality about your voice and you pitched that perfectly.’
Meanwhile Amanda Holden added: ‘You landed on every note and your breath control was extraordinary. It was an outstanding performance.’
