LL Cool J on “Accidental Racist” and detaining an intruder

On the heels of his recently released 13th studio album, on Friday evening hip-hop legend LL Cool J joined Piers Morgan in studio with his trademark brand of candor and personality.

The new record, entitled “Authentic,” is the 13th by the artist born James Todd Smith, and appearing as part of a worldwide exclusive interview, he offered some insight into his heavily criticized duet with country music star Brad Paisley:

“What I was trying to achieve is,” began LL Cool J, discussing the song entitled “Accidental Racist.”

“Don’t judge a book by its cover,” co-guest Eddie Van Halen, jumped in, finishing LL Cool J’s thought.

“Exactly,” agreed LL Cool J. “It was really that simple. Don’t judge a book by its cover and also, we have to get passed the past, get passed what happened in the past if we’re gonna really have a future together.”
