Saints trade Ivory, make 2 picks in round 3 of the NFL draft


saints helmetThe Saints used one of their few trade assets to address areas of need on day 2 of the NFL draft.

The Saints drafted Arkansas Pine-Bluff offensive tackle Terron Armstead with their 3rd round pick, #75 overall.

The club then traded running back Chris Ivory to the New York Jets for a fourth round selection. New Orleans then packaged two fourth round picks, theirs and the Jets,  to Miami for the Dolphins 3rd round pick, #82 overall. The Saints then selected defensive tackle John Jenkins of Georgia.

Head coach Sean Payton said the deal to trade Ivory to the Jets was put agreed upon with less than one minute on the clock for New York to make a selection.
